The Silver Coast has a rich history, with evidence of Indo-European and Roman settlements. Conímbriga, a National Monument, is a well-preserved Roman settlement that is a must-visit for history enthusiasts and homeschoolers! Conímbriga is located in the civil parish of Condeixa-a-Velha e Condeixa-a-Nova and is 16 kilometers (9.9 miles) from Coimbra (the Roman town of Aeminium). The region is also home to several other amazing towns, including Obidos, Nazaré, Alcobaça, Caldas da Rainha, and Foz do Arelho.
